Life-saving device with safety helmet and oxygen supply
The invention relates to a life-saving device to be used in water in the form of a water sports helmet with oxygen supply. This life-saving equipment is especially intended for cases in which a boatman gets underwater by capsizing the boat and fails to rear up the boat in seconds or reach the water surface under the boat - the most common reasons These are that the capsized boat has fallen into a water roller or has wedged between rocks. The equipment can also be used in other contexts than water sports.
Even if the boatman has followed the basic rule number 1 - always accompanied by him - in such a case he only has about 1% - 2 minutes without the brain suffering damage or drowning due to lack of oxygen. A period of time that is so short that riding colleagues often fail to reach the scene of the accident, protect themselves and recover the casualty within this extremely short period of time, leading to tragic deaths time and time again.
The object of the invention is to save people from such accidental death. This object is achieved with the invention by a life-saving device, or the like in a preferred embodiment essentially of an open water sports helmet with integrated mouthpiece and attached oxygen cylinder. which is worn on the body or attached to the boat.
Further features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description and the drawing, in which a reference is hereby made to the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. The preferred embodiment of the invention will be explained by way of examples.
The graphic shows:
1-3 a helmet according to the invention with integrated mouthpiece (various exemplary embodiments) in full view;
Fig. 2 (b) and 2 (c) helmet with integrated mouthpiece in section;
3 and 4 an inventive life-saving device in a schematic view. While standard open water sports helmets only protect against bumps, the present novel "watersport rescue helmet" offers. also the function of oxygen supply through a mouthpiece integrated into the helmet. The mouthpiece can be integrated into the helmet in different ways: While the mouthpiece 7 in FIG. 1, which shows a fullcut helmet 1, is integrated in the strap 4 of the helmet 1, the mouthpiece 7 in FIG. 2 is a fullface helmet 1, directly integrated into the helmet frame 5, while in Fig. 3, a fullcut helmet 1 with attachable visor 6, the mouthpiece 7 is integrated into the visor 6.
The mouthpiece 7 is thus located directly in front of the victim's mouth, which is of great importance.
Since it is necessary for a person in an emergency and panic situation to go quickly and easily, the opening of the oxygen supply is as shown in Fig. 2 (c) by: 9 3/14 > Biting the access stop 8 of the mouthpiece 7 or > Tongue pressure to open the access barrier 8 of the mouthpiece 7 ^ Evt. can the oxygen supply instead of through a
Mouth movement in the ripcord principle, so be opened dog - one pulls on a few centimeters short ripcord 9, which is attached to the lower helmet frame 5 - this opens the access barrier 8 of the mouthpiece 7 and the oxygen supply begins. However, one must remember that it can also come to the rare case that the boatman is trapped with both arms, so the first two variants are safer.
The access barrier 8 of the mouthpiece 7 consists of a plastic plate and is secured by an ultra-short metal chain 10 of a few mm in length, so that it can not get into the trachea of the athlete with deep breaths. If the kayaker is not in the habit of traveling with nose clamp 11 anyway, a nose clip 11 is attached to the mouthpiece 7 by means of flexible high-wire connection for emergency purposes.
According to the current state of the art, the breathing hoses 2 are connected to the mouthpiece 7 with counter-opening valves and the mouthpiece 7 is provided with protective valves (aqua-stop) and / or air shower, so that no water can get from the boat operator's mouth into the breathing hoses 2 ,
Mouthpiece 7, controller 3 and breathing hoses 2 are, according to the prior art, also suitable for low water temperatures (cold water suitable). · "
»
In order not to restrict the athlete in his freedom of movement (paddle movement), the two tubes 2 are tightly guided on the upper body, which is easily possible due to the routinely worn lifejacket and their clamp closures (Fig. 3).
Depending on the type of water in which the athlete prefers to travel and which average rescue time is to be expected, the helmet 1 is offered with different oxygenation variants:
Since the head of a human with the upper body hanging down in the water is in a water depth of 1 to 1.5 meters, where the pressure is about 0.10 to 0.15 bar, a small-sized bottle 12 can be used , The helmet can therefore be combined with a pony bottle (2-4 liters), a stage of similar size or spare air. If you want to avoid low water temperatures and the risk of icing, consider a single-bottle monoblock.
The stability of the boat is not affected by such a light weight as that of the oxygen cylinder 12 (2-4 kg). The bottle 12 is in any case attached to the center of the boat. There are three ways to do this: > Ideally, the bottle 12 is placed around the abdomen by means of strap 13 (Figure 3) > however, the bottle 12 may also be inserted into an aluminum light metal frame 14 which is in front of or > behind the driver is secured to the access hatch 15 (Fig. 4) / 5/14 ······················································································· # ··· ··· ·························································
As an additional safeguard is at the same moment when the athlete takes the oxygen to complete, automatically triggered by radio pulse mounted on the bottom of the boat 16 acoustic alarm siren 17 (min 95 dB), whereby the emergency situation of the athlete is recognizable and he can be located acoustically.
The invention is not limited to the illustrated and described embodiment, but various changes and additions are conceivable without departing from the scope of the invention. Thus, for example, use of the life-saving device according to the invention is conceivable not only in boats and esp. Sports boats, but in general on inland waters or at the sea. 6/14
